Two Canadian based programs to be seen in the US, from an ION release;

ION Television bought the rights to two 60m original drama series, with both making their US debuts on ION in 2009. Each agreement allows ION the US television digital media rights in addition to online streaming and VOD:

ION Television made a deal with Fireworks International, the television and digital programming distribution division of ContentFilm, for the broadcast rights for The Border, a procedural crime drama about members of the Canadian Immigration and Customs Security Unit working to secure the border between the US and Canada.

ION Television's second deal with Lionsgate involves the broadcast rights for The Guard, an action/drama about members of a Coastguard Search and Rescue team.

I've been told that ION is the new name for the former PAX network.

ION Television premieres its original series The Guard for the first time in the US on March 13 at 9p, over a two-hour block of back-to-back 60m episodes. The series follows four members of the Canadian Coast Guard Search and Rescue Team as they endanger their own lives to save others. ION Television acquired the series, produced by Halifax Films and Brightlight Pictures, from Lionsgate. The Guard will air on ION Television with two one-hour episodes back-to-back at 9p every Saturday night.

HOWEVER:  Please check ION's website as the ION network is not carried in all areas of the US by cable companies.  Usually in major markets only, it is not everywhere.
